GILLINGHAM say they “strongly refute” any suggestion that winger Garath McCleary dived to win a late penalty in last weekend’s 2-2draw with Bromley.
The 38-year-old will serve a two-game ban after being found guilty of simulation by an FA disciplinary panel.
A club statement said: “Gillingham FC acknowledge today’s announcement from The FA that Garath McCleary will serve a two-match suspension as a result of the incident in the 94th minute of our league fixture away at Bromley last weekend.
