GARETH Ainsworth hailed the finishing prowess of veteran striker Sam Vokes as his Gillingham side extended their unbeaten start to the season and went top of League Two with a slimmest-of-margins victory at winless Oldham Athletic.
Vokes met Max Clark’s corner to head home the decisive goal in the 72nd minute with what was a real sucker punch to an Oldham side dominating the second half up to that point.
