Nigel Adkins over the moon to give Tranmere Rovers owner Mark Palios a birthday win

NIGEL Adkins was delighted with the attitude of his players after Tranmere Rovers returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Newport County at Prenton Park.

NIGEL Adkins was delighted with the attitude of his players after Tranmere Rovers returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Newport County at Prenton Park.
Strikes either side of half-time from Connor Jennings and Kieron Morris were the difference as Adkins’ side ended a run of three straight defeats in all competitions.
“The response after last week has been good throughout the week and today we’ve gone out and got the victory we needed,” said Adkins.
