Match Preview: Mansfield Town v Accrington Stanley (Monday, 2pm)

Town host in Monday’s match at the One Call Stadium looking to bounce back from defeat last time out in .

The , who sit second in the league after 40 games, fell to a 2-0 away defeat to on Friday.

They face an Accrington side who also lost their last match, a 2-1 defeat to , and who sit 18th in the table.

With 79 goals in 40 games so far this season, Mansfield are the league’s highest scorers with 2.0 goals per game. And they are conceding fewer than average, letting in 39 goals at a rate of 1.0 per game.

Accrington, meanwhile, are below average scorers, with 1.3 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.5. They have conceded 1.5 goals per game.

In the last 10 years, Mansfield and Accrington have played each other on eight occasions. Mansfield won two of them, Accrington four, and they drew twice.

On average, the Stags scored 2.1 goals and Accrington 1.6 in those matches.

Their last meeting was on September 9, when Mansfield won 3-0 away.

Town are in mixed form in League Two, with two wins and a draw from their last six games.

With a win and a draw over that period, Stanley’s form is worse – they have taken four points from 18, compared to the Stags’ seven.

In Davis Keillor-Dunn, the hosts have one of the league’s most on-form strikers so far this season. He has notched 19 goals in 40 appearances, to sit fourth in the scoring charts.

His goal rate of one every 160 minutes is quicker than that of Jack Nolan, the away side’s top scorer with a goal every 207 minutes, and a total of 14 goals in 39 games.

Monday’s match will be refereed by Tom Reeves, who has taken charge of 11 League Two games so far this season, issuing one red card and booking 39 players. He has awarded four penalties.

The last Accrington game Reeves refereed was the 3-1 loss at home against on September 30. He is yet to oversee a match featuring Mansfield this season.
