Match Preview: Walsall v Accrington Stanley (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Walsall have picked up 11 points from their last six games, and they face an Accrington side who lost their last match, and have collected eight points from the last possible 18.

With 46 goals in 33 games so far this season, Accrington are scoring at below the league average rate with 1.4 goals per game. But they are conceding fewer than average too, letting in 42 goals at a rate of 1.3 per game.

Walsall, meanwhile, are average scorers, with 1.5 goals per game. They have conceded 1.4 goals per game.

The are ninth in the table after 33 games, of which they have won 13 and drawn nine, earning 48 points.

Stanley are five places behind the home side in 14th, with 13 wins and seven draws putting them on 46 points.

Walsall’s last match was on Saturday, a 2-0 win against , with Liam Gordon getting the goals for the Saddlers.

Accrington lost 1-0 against last time out, also on Saturday.

Tuesday’s match will be refereed by Martin Coy, who has taken charge of eight League Two games so far this season, issuing one red card and booking 42 players. He has awarded two penalties.

The last Walsall game Coy refereed was a 2-1 away loss to on August 5. He is yet to oversee a match featuring Accrington this season.
