Harrogate Town midfielder George Thomson has credited his vegan diet with helping him bounce back swiftly from injury to become the club’s biggest goal threat this season.
The Melton Mowbray-born 31-year-old hit double figures for 2023-24 during the 2-2 New Year’s Day draw at Morecambe, which meant he had already doubled his personal best in an EFL campaign.
Thomson’s achievement is all the more impressive when considering that he missed a considerable chunk of pre-season following ankle surgery and did not make a League Two start until five fixtures in.
