FOREST Green Rovers became the first team in the world to travel to a sports event in an electric coach yesterday.
The league leaders made the short journey to Bristol Rovers’ Memorial Ground in a state-of-the-art electric vehicle, fulfilling a pledge made by chairman Dale Vince at the start of the season to use one.
The coach was leased from London company Westway but, in the longer term, the club intend to buy one for suitable away trips next season.
