VERNAM’S PATIENCE PAYS OFF

CHARLES Vernam has praised the Bradford management for not rushing his comeback from a hamstring injury.
Vernam, 25, scored on his return against Port Vale following two months on the sidelines.
He said: “It would have been very easy to throw me in for 90 minutes after Newport. The gaffer (Mark Hughes) knows what he needs to see from me and he knows what I can offer.”
Vernam admitted taking his time to return has paid dividends, adding: “Coming back into the team, I feel like I have come back in the best shape possible.”
