PORT Vale’s Dan Jones has revealed he asked manager Darrell Clarke to move him across to central defence.
Jones has been an essential part of a Valiants backline, playing in all but one of his team’s league games.
The 26-year-old signed for Vale in the summer from Salford and has since become a key cog in Clarke’s side.
He said: “I asked him if I could play there because I enjoy it and like to have the ball. I get more of it there than I would at wing-back.
