CARL Rushworth’s call-up to the England Under-21s was “a proud moment” for Walsall, but boss Matt Taylor has been quick to praise fellow keeper Jack Rose.
Rushworth, 20, is on loan with the Saddlers from Brighton and has been in impressive form.
That prompted a call from the Young Lions when Josh Griffiths was forced to withdraw, and Taylor said: “He is the first player to be called up for the Under-21s for England for a long time.
“It’s a proud moment for us. Competition has been tough for Jack as Carl has come in and not really put a foot wrong.”
