KEATON Ward was delighted to fulfil a childhood ambition after playing in front of Mansfield fans for the first time.
The 21-year-old midfielder, who was born in the town, made his second start of the season in the midweek EFL Trophy defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
The first was away to Harrogate in the same competition, and Ward said: “It was brilliant playing for my hometown club in front of everyone. A lot of my friends and family were up there.
“Since being 13, 14 years old, thinking about playing and then to be here now, it’s brilliant.”
