SIX-GAME BAN FOR SONGO’O

MORECAMBE midfielder Yann Songo’o has apologised after admitting a charge of directing a homophobic insult at an opposing player.
The 29-year-old has been handed a six-game ban by the FA for the incident which occurred against Tranmere in January and for which he received a red card.
Songo’o said: “I’d like to offer a sincere apology for any offence caused.
“I’m disappointed in myself for using that term, because it does not reflect the type of person I am. I’m against any form of discrimination and I know what I said was unacceptable.”
