Rodney at double to bury sorry Shrimpers

DANNY Pugh hailed Devante Rodney after the striker’s double set Port Vale on their way to a five-goal thrashing of struggling Southend.
Rodney scored a fine opener 55 seconds in, before Tyler Cordner’s own goal doubled the lead and Valiants defender Adam Crookes forced in after a scramble.
Rodney tapped in Vale’s fourth before half-time, with Manny Oyeleke completing the hammering late on. And Pugh expects Rodney to achieve great things.
