Hurst hails point after Mariners’ pitch battle

PAUL Hurst praised his Grimsby side for picking up an important point in their battle to escape relegation.
Separated by one point ahead of kickoff, the League’s bottom two sides played out a goalless, and largely chance-less, affair at Blundell Park.
Despite the at times poor quality of the game, heavily influenced by the state of the pitch, Hurst hailed the draw as a building block in the Mariners’ survival battle.
“It was important that we didn’t lose and we took something from the game,” he said.
