SHEFFIELD Wednesday had only been to one post-war FA Cup final – that was in 1966 when a little-known Everton winger called Mike Trebilcock broke their hearts.
Fast forward 20 years. The Owls, who had been defeated in the semi-final three years previously, were again only 90 minutes away from an appearance at the Twin Towers. Standing in their way were Everton again, battling Merseyside rivals Liverpool for a League and Cup double that they would ultimately miss out on.
