Brown in the pink as he thwarts Red Devils

STAR MAN SCOTT BROWN Port Vale

KEEPER Scott Brown made a series of fine second-half saves to deny Crawley a first win under new head coach John Yems as Port Vale held them to a goalless draw at the Broadfield Stadium.
Crawley, without a win in eight league games, found Brown in fine form with Yems starting his tenure with two successive 0-0 draws.
Vale boss John Askey had called on his side to “dig in” if they are to go into the New Year in contention for a place in the play-offs and a bright start saw David Amoo go close.
