GREAT EXPECTATIONS WILL NEVER LEAD TO STABILITY AT CLUBS…

ONE question that every club needs to be clear about is this – what is your realistic definition of success?
If a club finishes in 17th place and operates without a transfer fee budget and with the 15th biggest budget in the League is that success?
The answer might not be obvious. If that finish was achieved whilst blooding five academy youngsters with 100 combined games then you’d have to think of the season as being exceptional.
If one of those youngsters was transferred for £1m, it would be more successful still.
