PORTSMOUTH chief executive Mark Catlin defended his transfer window dealings after Pompey fans were left frustrated when keeper Stephen Henderson was the only player signed.
Catlin reiterated the club worked hard to strengthen but were subject to external failings.
He said: “If a domino further in the chain doesn’t go down, then by the time it gets to our domino, that doesn’t go down either – and, unfortunately, that happened.”
Henderson, 29, returns to Pompey on loan from Nottingham Forrest, having spent a season with Pompey back in 2011-12.
