NEWPORT County have been reassured they will be taken into account if Rodney Parade changes hands.
On May 9, the shareholders of Newport RFC, who own Rodney Parade, will vote on whether to accept the Welsh Rugby Union’s £3.75million takeover proposal.
But in 2013 the Exiles agreed a ten-year lease to use the stadium after gaining promotion to the EFL.
Newport RFC chairman Will Godfrey says both Newport County and Newport Squash Club – also based at Rodney Parade – are protected under their current agreements.
