Jamie Reid was hailed by manager Alex Revell after Stevenage came from an early goal down to beat Blackpool.
The 31-year-old striker bagged a first-half double after George Honeyman’s strike had put the hosts ahead after six minutes.
Dan Kemp added Boro’s third, before Niall Ennis’ late goal proved just a consolation for the Tangerines.
“Jamie has worked extremely hard over pre-season,” said Revell.
