Tuesday's late match at Vale Park sees two relegation candidates play each other, as 22nd-ranked Port Vale host 23rd-placed Fleetwood Town.
Vale have picked up 31 points from their first 31 League One games, with eight wins and seven draws.
That is four points more than the Cod Army have collected, having won six and drawn nine.
Vale are in terrible form in League One, with no wins and a draw from their last six games.
With two wins and two draws over that period, Fleetwood's form is much better – they have taken eight points from 18, compared to the Valiants's one.
In the last 10 years, Vale and Fleetwood have played each other on 11 occasions. They won four each, and they drew three times.
On average, the Valiants scored 1.1 goals and the Cod Army 1.3 in those matches.
Their last meeting was on February 3, when Fleetwood won 3-0 at home.
With 32 goals in 32 games so far this season, the home side are scoring at below the league average rate with 1.0 goals per game. And they are conceding more than average, letting in 52 goals at a rate of 1.6 per game.
Town are also below average scorers, with 1.0 goal per game, compared to a league average of 1.3. They have conceded 1.6 goals per game.
Vale's last match was on Saturday, a 2-0 loss against Lincoln City.
Fleetwood drew 1-1 with Exeter City last time out, also on Saturday, with Promise Omochere on the scoresheet.
Tuesday's match will be refereed by Darren Drysdale, who has taken charge of 12 League One games so far this season, issuing two red cards and booking 47 players. He has awarded two penalties.
The last Fleetwood game Drysdale refereed was the 3-3 draw at home against Blackpool on November 1. He is yet to oversee a match featuring Vale this season.
