Paul Warne wants his players to ring their mums – and he broke down in tears when he talked about his dad.
It’s a unique way to introduce yourself to the media in a big new job. But Warne is a bit different. He talks about training sessions where he says to his players: “‘Right. When was the last time you told your mum you loved her?’ The lads will be like, what?
“I go: ‘On your way home I want you all to promise me you are going to phone your mum up and tell her you love her. I guarantee it’s the best thing you do today’.”
