Karl Robinson says Lewis Bate has it all to prove after joining Oxford United on a season-long loan from Leeds United.
Bate, a deep-lying playmaker who has four caps for England Under-20s, joined the Whites in a £1.5m deal from Chelsea last summer.
But the 19-year-old made just a handful of appearances as the Yorkshire side battled for Premier League survival and in January suffered the indignity of being withdrawn after coming on as a substitute during a game against West Ham.
