WES Hoolahan admitted he “couldn’t have asked for anything more” from his two-year spell with Cambridge United.
Midfielder Hoolahan, who turns 40 later this month, is leaving the U’s having made 66 appearances, scored eight goals and provided 17 assists.
He said: “To play as much as I did and for us to have achieved what we did, it has been a really special part of my life and career.
“The day we won promotion (to League One) is the day that will live with me the longest.”
