CAMBRIDGE boss Mark Bonner has hailed the resilience and attitude of Joe Ironside after he battled back from injury.
Forward Ironside, 28, returned from the bench in Cambridge’s midweek clash with Wycombe after being out since mid-January with an ankle injury.
“Joe is just a freak! His body is ridiculous, he has no pain threshold,” Bonner said.
“He just gets on with it and cracks on; he had a huge determination and work ethic to get back on the pitch.
“He’s so important to the culture that we’ve got.”
