MADDEN’S EXIT ‘SUITS’ COD ARMY

PADDY Madden’s move to Stockport County was “a deal which suits everyone”, according to Fleetwood chairman Andy Pilley.
The National League promotion hopefuls paid an undisclosed six-figure fee for the 31-year-old forward, who leaves as the Cod Army’s all-time record goalscorer with 53 goals in 149 games.
Pilley said: “All good things come to an end, it’s important we do what’s best for the club.
“Paddy made it clear the chance to sign a long-term contract was too much of a draw for him, so it’s a deal which suits everyone.”
