SALARY CAP SCRAPPING SUITS LEE

CHARLTON manager Lee Bowyer felt the decision to withdraw a salary cap in League One “shows that it should never have been put there in the first place”.
Caps per club of £2.5m for League One and £1.5m for League Two, introduced by the EFL and voted through last August, had to be withdrawn this week following an arbitration panel ruling.
Addicks boss Bowyer said: “We were, perhaps, the team that was affected by it more than anyone because we came down and lost 12 players.”
