PHIL Parkinson was proud of the way Sunderland refused to bow to the antics of Steve Evans as they beat 10-man Gillingham in a fiery finish.
In a second half packed with incident, Black Cats stopper Lee Burge saved a penalty and Gills’ Alex MacDonald was sent off for a horror tackle on Luke O’Nien.
