STOKE captain Ryan Shawcross admits he feared his career was over after breaking his leg in pre-season.
“It’s been difficult, mainly the mental side,” he said. “When I initially broke my leg I wasn’t sure if I would play again and then the initial talk was me not playing all season.” Shawcross, 32, initially returned in January, but was dealt another blow when he suffered a calf issue.
