JOEY BARTON could not contain his delight as his Fleetwood side got the better of his old mate Micky Mellon.
The hosts kept themselves firmly in play-off contention thanks to a goal in each half, but it wasn’t easy against a Tranmere side whose boss remains a huge favourite on the Fylde coast.
Josh Morris and Paddy Madden were the men on target as Fleetwood secured their fourth win in five games in all competitions.
