SHREWD DECISION HELPED DAVE TO MAKE IT

IN AN era of multi-million- pound contracts and ever-spiralling transfer fees, Shrewsbury midfielder Dave Edwards likes to recall his humble footballing beginnings.
The 33-year-old has experienced it all in the game: 43 caps for Wales, a multitude of Premier League appearances with Wolves and now a return to his boyhood club.
And for all his feats, Edwards credits them to his formative years spent at the Town academy.
“Coming through here was great for me personally. It’s nice to play for a team that you have supported and watched,” he said.
