BOTH managers were in agreement that referee Oliver Langford took the correct decision to abandon this game in front of a record crowd after 72 minutes.
There were several pitch inspections before the game and the heavens opened in the second half. On what was an already sodden pitch and rain continuing to pour down, Langford said he had no option but to end the game early, with the score 1-1.
