BLACKBURN boss Tony Mowbray has likened midfielder Richie Smallwood to a “metronome”.
The 27-year-old saw his run of 51 successive league starts for the club come to an end when he was named on the bench against Bolton Wanderers last Saturday.
Smallwood did come on as a substitute around the hour mark, with Bradley Dack’s first-half strike proving the difference at the Macron Stadium.
