McPhillips lauds hero stopper Howard

BLACKPOOL boss Terry McPhillips praised goalkeeping hero Mark Howard after a string of fine saves kept out Luton Town in a draw at Bloomfield Road.
The 32-year-old stopper, who rejoined the Tangerines last summer after leaving Bolton, was in inspired form as he helped his team stretch their unbeaten run in League One to seven games.
Howard kept out a low drive from Andrew Shinnie and also denied Jorge Grant, before superbly saving from Elliott Lee late on.
It was the one silver linking in a performance that failed to enthuse McPhillips...
