MEDICAL STAFF’S SPEEDY WORK IS HAILED

BARNSLEY’S League One fixture against Burton Albion was postponed on Saturday after a “medical emergency”.
An air ambulance landed on the pitch at Oakwell as kick-off was delayed, before the match was called off around 30 minutes later.
Barnsley praised the “swift response” from the Yorkshire Ambulance service and their own medical staff and that of Burton Albion.
Steve Bailey, safety officer at Barnsley Football Club thanked both sets of supporters who he said behaved impeccably whilst the incident was ongoing.
