FLEETWOOD boss Joey Barton said it was “great to have that monkey off your back” after chalking up his first win as a manager with a win at Oxford.
Ched Evans fired the visitors in front after 34 minutes and Paddy Madden sealed victory by converting a penalty in the 89th minute after Wes Grant was brought down by goalkeeper Scott Shearer.
After a 1-0 home defeat by Wimbledon on the opening day, this result was welcome for Fleetwood.
