Wrexham will play host to high-flying Coventry City this evening as the Sky Blues make the trip up to the Racecourse Ground.
Phil Parkinson’s Wrexham side will be reeling from their 2-1 defeat to Welsh rivals Cardiff City in the Carabao Cup mid-week.
Although the Wrexham boss won’t let that distract him from positive performances against second-place Middleborough, Oxford United and Leicester City in recent weeks.
Picking up four points from six games, Parkinson says his side isn’t afraid to put on a show this Friday evening.

Impose
“We’ve got to impose ourselves on Coventry, respect them of course, but we’ve got to be ready to impose our game on them,” he said.
Wrexham won’t take the challenge of facing the league leaders lightly, with manager Parkinson saying his team need to be switched on.
“They’ve scored a lot of goals, and we’ve got to be switched on to that in terms of set play situations as well, cause they’ve done well in that area of the game, the record’s there for all to see.”
Despite improved results in recent weeks, Wrexham are still underperforming relative to the significant summer investment, with only relegated sides Ipswich Town and Southampton spending more.
Dominic Hyam, who joined Wrexham from Blackburn Rovers in the Summer, was keen to point to the players’ ambition in the build-up to tonight’s game.
“We’re an ambitious group and we want to win and get points from every game that’s possible.”

Records
Despite confidence from those in the Wrexham camp, it’s really hard to look past the job that Frank Lampard has done at Coventry this season, as they remain unbeaten after 12 league games so far.
Coventry will also look to enter uncharted territory tonight with a win tonight breaking the longest winning streak in the club’s history, although the Sky Blues boss said that he isn’t thinking about records.
“I just want to win games and it won’t be forever because this is football, but we just try and go to every game, you park the last one, take the good and the bad and move on to the next one,” he said. “Everyone else can talk about any records.”
Sitting atop the Championship table, Coventry’s record at both ends of the pitch is impossible to ignore.
The Sky Blues have scored a league-high 34 goals in just 12 games, with Brandon Thomas-Asante, Haji Wright, and Dane Victor Torp combining for 23 of them.
Coventry also look solid defensively too, with keeper Carl Rushworth leading the league in clean sheets with six so far this season, even attracting speculation of an England call-up up which defender Liam Kitching joked about ahead of tonight’s game.
“He’s a top keeper and a top lad, hopefully we can keep getting some more clean sheets and hopefully he gets an England call-up.”
It may be tricky to bet against Coventry tonight despite recent performances from Wrexham; the Sky Blues’ scoring prowess may be too much for a side who have kept only two clean sheets so far this season.
