Proud Cardiff City boss Omer Riza hailed his side’s character after their dramatic 4-2 penalty shoot-out victory over Stoke City.
The thrilling cup tie ended 3-3 in normal time after Lewis Koumas scored twice in four minutes, either side of the break, to cancel out Rubin Colwill and Yousef Salech.
Stoke, from 2-0 down, led 3-2 through Lewis Baker’s penalty before Colwill’s second.
