…but Roo hits out at big call
Southampton boss Russell Martin hailed his troops after they overcame Wayne Rooney's Birmingham to make it six games unbeaten.
Goals from Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Carlos Alcaraz and Adam Armstrong helped Saints win 3-1.
“It has been a really nice run, especially after the run that came before that,” said Martin. “That probably makes me more proud of the players and staff.”
Blues boss Rooney was left lamenting a decision not to award his side a penalty after Saints keeper Gavin Bazunu crashed into Oliver Burke.
“I know refs make mistakes, I accept that, but that was a big error,” he said.
Harry Winks scored leaders Leicester's winner in a 2-1 success at QPR, who later axed boss Gareth Ainsworth.
