MIDDLEBROUGH’S miserable start to the season goes on although they more than played their part in an absorbing and pulsating contest. Michael Carrick’s side have now collected just one point from their opening six contests and, including last season’s twolegged play-off defeat to Coventry, have failed to win any of their last 11 league matches – asequence that equals the club’s longest outside of top-flight football since January 1925.
