Bumper gets EFL off to top start

Chief executive Trevor Birch believes the ‘ever improving quality’ of the EFL is one of the key factors in the soaring attendances across the competition.
Over half a million fans enjoyed a bumper opening weekend in the Championship, League One and League Two.
In total, there were 543,168 supporters in grounds up and down the country, making it the highest aggregate opening weekend attendance this century. The figure is over 90,000 more than the opening day of 2022-23, representing a 20.7 per cent rise.
