Teemu Pukki to leave Norwich at the end of the season

Teemu Pukki will leave when his contract expires in the summer.

The 33-year-old Finland striker joined Norwich on a free transfer in the summer of 2018 and has scored 88 goals in 204 appearances.

“This has not been an easy decision because of what means and has done for me,” Pukki told the club's website.

“I've loved my time with this great club, but considering the stage of my career, and I know I have a few more years in me, I'm keen for another new experience.

“These five years have probably been the best of my career, both from a professional and personal perspective. I don't think anyone believed it would go as well as it has. This club and city will always have a special place in my heart.”

Pukki has helped the club to two promotions so far, scoring 30 times in all competitions during the 2018-19 -winning campaign and 26 in the 2020-21 title success.

He has netted 10 times this season to move up to fourth in the club's all-time goalscorers list.

Sporting director Stuart Webber said: “Teemu has done so much for Norwich City during his five years with us and it is always a sad day when a club legend decides to leave.

“We're proud of everything he has achieved. He's had five amazing years with us, scoring an incredible amount of goals.

“He has been part of some of the greatest moments that we've experienced and will rightly be remembered as a club legend for a long time.”
