Coventry City have been served with an eviction notice after Mike Ashley, the former owner of Newcastle United, bought their stadium out of administration.
Ostensibly, the issue is over rent. He’s trying to manipulate the terms to maximise his investment, which he’s perfectly entitled to do as the landlord.
Realistically, it looks as though he’s using the ground as a tool to force the current owners to sell him the football club.
