JAN Paul van Hecke admitted it was “a really special feeling” to win Blackburn’s Player of the Year award.
The 21-year-old defender spent the season with Rovers on loan from Brighton and made a huge impact.
Van Hecke said: “I remember when I came here, I felt so good from the first day onwards.
The manager (Tony Mowbray), staff and players all helped me a lot.
“How it’s gone, with me winning the Player of the Year award, it’s an incredible feeling.
“People have appreciated me and they like players who play like me.
They enjoy the passion.”
