DERBY County boss Wayne Rooney is hoping for an early Christmas present – news of a preferred bidder to take over the club.
The bottom-of-thetable Rams have been in administration since September and desperately need fresh ownership if they to conjure up a miracle and remain in the Championship.
At the midway point of the season, Derby are 17 points from safety, having had 21 deducted by the EFL for going into administration and breaches of accounting rules.
