OXFORD United boss Karl Robinson paid tribute to keeper Jack Stevens, who made four outstanding saves in the win over AFC Wimbledon.
Fine goals from Jordan Obita – his first for the club – and Matty Taylor in the opening 22 minutes gave Oxford back-to-back wins.
But Dons hit back hard and it was only thanks to 23-year-old Stevens, who kept out efforts from Ethan Chislett, Callum Reilly, Ryan Longman and Shane McLoughlin, that the U’s hung on.
