WIGAN’S prospective new Spanish owners have said investing in the club’s academy will be a priority.
Identified as preferred bidders in September, the unnamed pair are currently in takeover negotiations with administrators and the EFL.
Their representative, Jose Miguel Garrido Cristo, said they would spend “£4-5million” on the club’s “No.1 asset”.
