TEENAGE midfielder Leon Maloney is targeting a first-team place after scoring his first Portsmouth goal.
The 18-year-old netted against Northampton as defending champions Pompey progressed to the Leasing.com Trophy third round.
Maloney, who was linked with Ajax, Chelsea and West Ham in the summer, said: “I was buzzing. The boys were all asking me if it was my first pro goal and, scoring it at Fratton Park, is something I’m never going to forget.
“Now I’ve got to keep up the momentum and play more often.”
