Jonathan Parr set for move back to Norway

boss has revealed that midfielder Jonathan Parr is likely to depart the club to return to his native Norway.

It has been reported that the 27-year-old is in discussions with Norwegian Tippeligaen side Stromsgodset and that a deal could be close.

told reporters, “His contract's up at the end of the season and I think they're offering him a long-term deal for him to go home

“He really wants to do that, he doesn't want to be here. But he's been a really good ambassador for the club.”

“Whenever he's played, he's always done his job, played well, fitted in, been a sub a lot of times and just been a good guy to have around

“It's probably better for all parties when you've got someone who's really pining to go home, then we'll have to try to get somebody else.”

Parr joined Ipswich in 2014 from but has recently struggled for first team opportunities and has only featured 10 times this season.

Ipswich are currently sitting just inside the play-off positions in 6th place and face at Portman Road tomorrow night.
