CARLISLE’S promotion challenge has faltered in recent weeks, but a double swoop could give them a lift.
Manager Keith Curle has snapped up former West Brom midfielder Joe Ward, released by the Baggies in January, and former Rochdale striker James Hooper.
The two 20-year-olds have agreed deals until the end of the season. Both players were on the bench in last Tuesday’s 0-0 draw against Luton, with Hooper coming on as a late substitute.
